Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup melemah signifikan akibat kekhawatiran akan kesehatan ekonomi AS. Koreksi saham sektor teknologi membebani indeks. Sentimen negatif bermula dari dua data manufaktur yang melemah, sehingga meningkatkan kekhawatiran akan potensi perlambatan ekonomi AS. Selain itu pasar juga mewaspadai pergerakan saham bulan September yang menurut data historis selama 10 tahun terakhir indeks S&P500 membukukan kinerja terburuk. Demikian juga berdasarkan data historis, kinerja indeks cenderung memburuk dalam dua bulan menjelang pemilu AS. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah dan emas mengalami pelemahan.

IHSG pada perdagangan Selasa 3 September 2024 ditutup melemah 1,01% pada level 7616. Saham sektor teknologi mengalami koreksi terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan menjadi satu-satunya sektor yang membukukan kenaikan. Investor asing mencatatkan net buy Rp116,97 miliar termasuk transaksi di pasar non regular.
