Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup mix, dimana indeks Dow Jones dan S&P500 ditutup melemah sedangkan Nasdaq Composite ditutup menguat. Pasar menantikan data nonfarm payrolls yang akan dirilis nanti malam, sebagai salah satu indikator untuk mengukur kesehatan ekonomi dan pasar tenaga kerja. Menurut konsensus data nonfarm payrolls bulan Juli mencapai 250 ribu, turun dari bulan sebelumnya 372 ribu. Data initial claims pekan lalu juga menunjukkan sedikit kenaikan dibandingkan pekan sebelumnya. Hal tersebut menunjukkan kekuatan pasar tenaga kerja AS mulai berkurang. Sementara itu saham sektor energi mengalami koreksi terbesar seiring dengan berlanjutnya penurunan pada harga minyak mentah akibat kekhawatiran akan resesi global. Harga emas menguat karena meningkatnya ketegangan politik antara AS-China. Bank of England menaikkan suku bunga sebesar 0,50% untuk memerangi inflasi.

IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 4 Agustus 2022 ditutup menguat 0,15% pada level 7057. Saham sektor teknologi membukukan kenaikan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor energi mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp1,123 triliun, termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 7005/6970 dan resistance 7085/7100.
