Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup mix di mana indeks Dow Jones ditutup menguat sedangkan indeks S&P500 dan Nasdaq Composite ditutup melemah. Kekhawatiran akan berlanjutnya kenaikan suku bunga The Fed pada tahun ini membuat saham sektor teknologi mengalami koreksi. Selain itu sentimen negatif juga berasal dari laporan bahwa China berencana memperluas larangan penggunaan iPhone di perusahaan dan lembaga milik negara. Data initial claims pekan lalu yang lebih rendah dari perkiraan juga meningkatkan ekspektasi bahwa The Fed masih berpotensi untuk menaikkan suku bunga pada tahun ini, ditambah dengan adanya kenaikan harga energi akhir-akhir ini. Namun pasar memprediksi The Fed akan mempertahankan suku bunga tetap pada pertemuan September ini.

IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 7 September 2023 ditutup melemah 0,59% pada level 6954. Saham sektor transportasi mengalami koreksi terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor teknologi membukukan kenaikan terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net sell Rp1,104 triliun termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler.
