Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat dipicu oleh rebound pada saham bluechips dan sektor teknologi. Pada pekan ini pasar menantikan dirilisnya laporan keuangan beberapa peritel seperti Walmart, Home Depot dan Target. Selain itu juga akan dirilis data penjualan ritel bulan Juli. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah berlanjut melemah akibat kekhawatiran akan dampak pemulihan ekonomi China yang lambat terhadap permintaan minyak mentah. Penguatan dollar AS juga mendorong koreksi pada harga minyak mentah dan emas.

IHSG pada perdagangan Senin 14 Agustus 2023 ditutup menguat 0,44% pada level 6910. Saham sektor basic materials membukukan kenaikan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor transportasi mengalami pelemahan terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net sell Rp539,99 miliar termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler.
