Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup melemah akibat laporan keuangan Home Depot yang mengecewakan dan proyeksi turunnya pendapatan, serta pasar menantikan pertemuan antara pemimpin kongres dan Presiden Joe Biden tentang batas utang AS. Data penjualan ritel naik 0,4%, lebih rendah dari estimasi yang sebesar 0,8%. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah melemah akibat data ekonomi China yang lebih rendah dari perkiraan, meskipun IEA memprediksi kenaikan permintaan minyak mentah pada tahun ini. Harga emas juga melemah di bawah level USD 2000 per t.oz, karena data penjualan ritel AS yang masih solid meskipun di bawah perkiraan, penguatan dollar AS dan yield US-Treasury, serta komentar hawkish pejabat The Fed yang cenderung dengan kebijakan moneter yang ketat.

IHSG pada perdagangan Selasa 16 Mei 2023 ditutup melemah 0,52% pada level 6676. Saham sektor transportasi mengalami koreksi terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan menjadi satu-satunya sektor yang menguat. Investor asing mencatatkan net sell Rp595,56 miliar termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6630/6600 dan resistance 6700/6735. Stock pick: KLBF, INDF, INKP, UNVR, JSMR
