Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup mix, dimana indeks Dow Jones melemah sedangkan indeks S&P500 dan Nasdaq Composite menguat didorong oleh penguatan pada saham sektor teknologi meskipun yield obligasi pemerintah AS dengan tenor 5 tahun mengalami kenaikan pada level tertinggi sejak awal tahun 2020. Dollar AS melemah setelah data produksi pabrik-pabrik di AS pada bulan September mengalami penurunan terbesar dalam tujuh bulan terakhir. Dari 41 emten dalam indeks S&P500 yang telah merilis laporan keuangan, sebesar 80% membukukan laba yang melebihi estimasi. Sementara itu data pertumbuhan ekonomi China pada Q3 2021 melambat menjadi 4,9%, yang merupakan pertumbuhan terendah sejak Q3 2020, yang antara lain disebabkan oleh krisis properti dan energi.
IHSG pada perdagangan Senin 18 Oktober 2021 ditutup menguat 0,38% pada level 6658. Saham sektor transportasi membukukan kenaikan terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor consumer noncyclical mencatatkan pelemahan terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp1,025 triliun. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6600/6560 dan resistance 6685/6710. Stock pick: BBRI, BBNI, BRIS, TBIG, PTBA, HRUM, ADRO, BSDE
