Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup melemah signifikan akibat kenaikan yield obligasi pemerintah AS meskipun terdapat optimisme akan kinerja keuangan emiten pada Q1/2022. Sebelumnya indeks sempat bergerak menguat tajam didorong oleh kinerja laporan keuangan emiten. Namun kenaikan yield US-Treasury tenor 10 tahun hingga level di atas 2,9%, mendorong koreksi indeks. Kenaikan yield itu terjadi setelah Chairman The Fed Jerome Powell memberi sinyal akan menaikkan suku bunga lebih cepat dan lebih tinggi dalam beberapa bulan ke depan. Dalam pidatonya di acara IMF mengenai debat ekonomi global, Powell mengindikasikan suku bunga akan naik 0,5% pada pertemuan Mei. Pasar pesimis bahwa The Fed dapat mengendalikan inflasi tanpa mengganggu pertumbuhan ekonomi.

IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 21 April 2022 ditutup menguat 0,68% pada level 7276. Saham sektor keuangan menyumbangkan penguatan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor energi mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp1,344 triliun, termasuk transaksi di pasar negosiasi atas saham BEBS dengan net sell investor asing sebesar Rp565,65 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 7260/7200 dan resistance 7325/7354.
