Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup mix di mana indeks Dow Jones ditutup melemah sedangkan indeks S&P500 dan Nasdaq Composite ditutup menguat. Saham sektor teknologi mengalami penguatan meskipun yield US-Treasury mengalami kenaikan pada level tertinggi sejak November 2007. Pada pekan ini pasar mengantisipasi komentar Chairman The Fed Jerome Powell pada simposium tahunan perbankan Jackson Hole. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah melemah seiring dengan pudarnya harapan akan meningkatnya permintaan dari China.

IHSG pada perdagangan Senin 21 Agustus 2023 ditutup menguat 0,09% pada level 6866. Saham sektor energi membukukan kenaikan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor properti mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net sell Rp2,307 triliun termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6855/6830 dan resistance 6900/6915. Stock pick: BMRI, BBRI, BBNI, ADRO, ADMR, MEDC, MDKA
