Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat menjelang dirilisnya laporan keuangan Apple dan Amazon, serta laporan kinerja Caterpillar dan Merck mengurangi kekhawatiran akan dampak perlambatan ekonomi terhadap kinerja emiten. Penguatan saham sektor teknologi mendorong Nasdaq Composite mencapai rekor tertinggi. Dari 244 emiten dalam indeks S&P500 yang telah merilis laporan keuangan, sebanyak 82% membukukan laba yang melebihi estimasi. Laporan kinerja keuangan emiten yang bagus berhasil mengalahkan sentimen negatif dari data pertumbuhan ekonomi AS pada Q3/2021 yang di bawah estimasi. Data ekonomi AS pada triwulan III tumbuh 2%, di bawah estimasi 2,7%. Data initial pekan lalu menunjukkan penurunan jumlah tenaga kerja yang mengajukan klaim, mengindikasikan pasar tenaga kerja berlanjut membaik.
IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 28 Oktober 2021 ditutup melemah 1,18% pada level 6524. Saham sektor energi mengalami koreksi terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor teknologi membukukan penguatan terbesar. Investor asing net sell Rp503,35 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6493/6440 dan resistance 6570/6600.
